district of Vilnius, Uzupis is an independent republic since 1997

Its name means : "on the other side of the river". The river is named "Vilnia"

As I'm STILL doing the tapestry, I'll show some "mega mix" of printing techniques; only on metal plates.

whatever the technique : first the metal plate has to be clean , as shiny and as reflective as a mirror

this is aqua forte : some magic powder u spread on the plate. Then you warmth it and it melt.

here the plate is ready for acid : magic powder has melt and the dark part (lacquer) is dry. It will protect the plate from acid.

so now it's the common part. Etching, aqua forte or dry point : same steps.
